Daughters of the King

The Daughters of the King is a Religious Order for women of the Episcopal Church, of churches in communion with it, or in churches in the Historic Episcopate, who pledge themselves to a life-long program of prayer, service and evangelism, dedicated to the spread of Christ's Kingdom and the strengthening of the spiritual life of their parishes.

Like other religious Orders, the Order of the Daughters of the King has a Rule of Life, incorporating the Rule of Prayer and Rule of Service.

In the Rule of Prayer, Daughters vow to pray daily for the extension of Christ's Kingdom, for the spiritual growth of the Church, especially for their diocese or parish, and for all who need emotional, spiritual, and physical healing, and for the work of the Order.

In the Rule of Service, Daughters vow to participate regularly in the worship, study and work of the Church, to assist their priest in any way possible, and to bring others to a knowledge and love of our Lord.

The emblem of the Order is a silver Greek cross inscribed in Latin with words that broadly translate as "With lofty heart, mind, and spirit uphold the Cross." The initials, FHS, at the base of the cross remind the Daughters that their prayer, service, and evangelism are done For His Sake.
