The Rev. David K. Krause

Prior to coming to St. Peter's, Fr. Krause was the Episcopal Chaplain to Texas Tech for 13 years. Fr. Krause was reared in Iowa, and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa, earning a BA in History and Philosophy in 1980.

He held various secular positions and did graduate work at the University of Oklahoma before completing his M.Div at the Protestant Episcopal Theological Seminary of Virginia in 1990.

For the next three years, he was Rector of a small parish in Western Kansas, and then served as the Episcopal Chaplain at Texas Tech starting in 1993. Fr. Krause completed his MA in Philosophy in 1998, focusing on aesthetics and ethics. As part of his studies in aesthetics, Fr. Krause began a study of Iconography, and has given numerous workshops across the country.

Fr. Krause taught Philosophy at Texas Tech for several years.

Fr. Krause has been married to Julie for twenty-five years. She taught Spanish and Latin at All Saints Episcopal School in Lubbock, although her major was in German. She has previously worked for the State Department, as well as the Federal Department of Education.

They have one son, Michael, who is 14, and a high school freshman. He plays the viola and electric bass, and has been active in the diocesan youth community in Lubbock. The Krauses have two dogs.
